NOTD: Greenish.

Good morning!
As a close to the nail themed week, here's a nail of the day.

Make nail varnish dry quicker.

I am always clumsy when it comes to freshly painted nails. the varnish is usually damaged before it has even dried up properly. A good top coat should be of help here, but I don't have a good one. So apart from having the patience of a saint, here's what I do in my pursuit for smoothly polished nails.

Easter nails: a chick and polka dots.

When A. and I were painting our nails together, we were looking at some colour combinations. But when I pointed out that my yellow varnish was very Easter like, she said that I could paint eyes an a beak on it so it looks like a chick. And so I did!

Spring nails: Pistachio Ice Cream.

I don't have many pastel nail varnishes, so when I wanted to give it a try last year, I got myself an MUA £1 nail polish. I picked the shade Pistachio Ice Cream which is a pale green.

NOTD: Gold & Brown.

As you may know by now I like to paint my nails in more than one colour at a time. After a bit of nail painting with my friend A., I figured these two varnishes would make a good combo, and I still think they do.

Marvellous music: Alan Menken for Disney.

I'm a sucker for Disney films and one of my favourites is Beauty and the Beast. A long time ago someone pointed out to me that the music in the film was really good. So the next time I watched the film, I tried to pay attention to the music rather than sing along with the songs in my mind. Not just when the characters are singing, but also when there's background music during a conversation or during the battle in the castle - "battle on the tower" on the CD that is. And he was right, the music is absolutely beautiful!

Much later, when I was listening to the music from Tangled last spring, I could recognise the same style. So I did an internet search and found out I was right: the music of the two films was written by the same composer. It's written by Alan Menken, and clearly I'm not the only one who loves his music: he's received loads of awards! He has written music for Disney, but also for other films, musicals and for television.

But Disney is what I know him for and so here are a few of his Disney songs I found on YouTube:

Easy Peasy Recipe: Italian sweet pepper and goats' cheese.

I'm still loving goats' cheese, so here's another recipe using it! I first tried this recipe with two friends of mine. We were cooking together and had this as a starter.
It was so delicious I've had it several more times since!
