Jogging 5k update.

It's been a while since I posted the last start to run update. Here's a heads up on what I've been doing between then and now.

That Friday I went for it and I jogged what we thought was 5k in 43' 20". I found this to be very slow, but later it turned out that we'd been jogging 5.4k! (according to Google maps at least.)

In that last update I told you M. would take us for dinner if I made the 5k. We haven't done so yet, but I'll make sure we will some time!

But to get back on topic: the week after that was a pretty good one!

Primark purchases part two: accessories and bits and pieces from other shops.

As promised, here's the second part of my Primark haul. As you may suspect after reading either the title or yesterday's post, there's stuff from other shops in here too.
Here they are:

Primark purchases part one: clothing.

Last week, my friend A. asked if I'd like to go to to Primark together. Clearly I did and so we went on a shopping trip last Wednesday. First stop was obviously Primark but after lunch - which was rather late since we'd spent quite some time at that first stop - we strolled about in some other shops too. After having a slush we went home with a good 'shopping booty'!

So here is part one of this 'haul': Primark clothing. Tomorrow I'll be posting the rest which are Primark accessories and a few goodies from other shops.

Let's go!

Eye of the day: red.

Last Sunday, as I was doing my make-up, I decided to go for something a bit different than my usual neutral shades. I went for a red shade and hoped I wouldn't end up looking like a clown.

Sport gear upgrade.

It's been 13 weeks ago that I started jogging, and thus far I've been relying on old trainers & tracksuit bottoms, and oversized T shirts and hoodies to run in. I did purchase a pair of three quarter length leggings at Primark a while ago but on Saturday I went to Decathlon with my mum and got a few pieces for summer.

Easy Peasy Recipe: mushroom and garlic quinoa.

Here's another easy peasy recipe!  This one is even easier than the first one. It's definitely no haute cuisine, but it's nice if you want an easy lunch.
It's a quinoa dish and I promise it tastes better than it looks!

For one person you'll need:
about 4 tablespoons of quinoa,
some water (that's not very precise, I know, but I didn't measure it; I'd guess it was about 400 ml),
1 clove of garlic,
5 medium sized mushrooms,
A piece of vegetable stock cube to taste.

Put the quinoa and water in a pot and put it on the stove top on high heat. Then peel and the garlic, mash it with a garlic press and add that in too. Next, cut the mushrooms and add those along with the bit of vegetable stock cube.

All you need to do then is let it boil and stir every now and then. After about 25 minutes most of the water was gone and I poured it on a plate. Easy as that!
Bon-appétit!

Sincerely,
R.

Breakfast habits.

Do you know the saying "Eat breakfast like a king, eat lunch like a prince, and eat dinner like a pauper"? I'm usually not hungry in the morning at all, but I try to make myself have breakfast every morning. It's easier to have something that doesn't take much effort, so I eat cold oats! And here's how I eat mine:
